Hi there,
This might be a stupid post, but I was wondering about something. I've gotten a large number of emails from MD programs including Vanderbilt, WashU, SLU, Mizzou, UMKC, Oakland Beaumont, etc. talking about their MD programs and asking if I was interested. However, I'm a bit baffled by most of these emails, especially WashU and Vanderbilt, as my MCAT score was a 521 (132/125/132/132). Could it be due to my 3.9 cGPA/3.8 sGPA? I've also gotten emails from LECOM, UIWCOM, ATSU Kirksville and KC, KCOM, etc.
I guess my question is: do these have any value at all or are they just like colleges sending you letters about joining their undergrad programs? Most have been relatively, if not very, generic so I'm guessing they have minimal weight. I've also gotten emails about MS programs, but I've never had an interest in them? I appreciate the help as I'm a first-gen and I'm trekking through this process alone for the first time. (I'm also a Missouri resident, so the in-state MD and DO programs were probably a given...)
Thanks!!
