Is it okay to send an email consisting of updates (fall grades, achievements, etc.) to schools you’re waitlisted at or does it have to be a letter of intent? I just want to notify them of post-bac classes I’ll be taking as well with what job I started working/will continue working over the winter.

Call up the school and see how their waitlist is ranked and whether additional information is considered.
