anyone have an embarrassing story about your PRE PHARMACY career?

maybe you think you won the world record for the lowest PCAT score ever, or you applied to ten pharmacy schools, and didnt get in to any!

whatever the case is, you should share it!

I wasted* several thousand dollars (like almost 4000$, cringe) on back-up schools, and ended up getting into the school in my home town and my alma mater.



*well not really "wasted", the interviews were a good experience and I got to travel to parts of the country I'd never been to and would otherwise never go to, and I got into the other schools too.

I thought for sure that I was not going to get into pharmacy school. I was taking a physics class with the most horrible professor I have ever had and resigned to just dropping it or retaking it during the summer and stopped showing up to the lectures.

Midway into the semester I get a letter of acceptance which clearly states that my accepted status would be revoked if I do not complete all my prereqs, which includes Physics.

Somehow I managed to pull a C out of my rear-end, and all is good.

I had a real shot of getting into LIU on my first try, then I met Organic Chem and got blown out of the water.

Organic I (1st Try) - UW - Fall 06 (Mets appearance in the MLB Playoffs led to me not studying at all, then got depressed after the horrific loss in Game 7 of the NLCS.)
Organic I (2nd Try) - D -Bad gameplan for Organic Chem, decided to continue to Organic II.

Organic II (1st Try) - F - Didn't learn enough in Organic I to succeed here, especially since it was a summer session here. This destroyed my chance of getting into Fall 2007 Entering Class.

Started my quest for Fall 2008 Entering Class.

Organic I (3rd Try) - A - Great success. 👍
Organic II (2nd Try) - B - Very nice, could have been better if the professor curved.

Who did u have for Orgo 1? Im taking the class in fall and heard all the liu orgo professors are really tough, probably just the class itself though. Did you hear anything about fall 2008 admission at LIU? Hope all works out.

Well, it was Pasternak for my 2nd time in Orgo I and also Pasternak for my 1st time in Orgo II.

The only professors I recommend at LIU for Organic Chem are Gough, Schnatter, and Watson.
