A floater pharmacist is asked an hour before opening to cover a store in an emergency and the pharmacist had other plans or no plans to work that day and says they can't cover that store. How bad is that in terms of keeping your job, being offered shifts, etc? As a scheduler what would be your opinion or feeling at the time?

I imagine that the scheduler would have already sent multiple calls out to people anyway rather than banking on one person but is it bad for a floater to not want to cover a store in an emergency?

yup - whenever i am off work and see a call from work - let it go to voice mail, then you can think of a good excuse if you don't want to go in. I have said no a lot - and I am usualy the first one to get called because I used to always say yes,
