Hi

I was just wondering how one would get 8 hours of credit in a class? My canadian classes are 6 hours for full year and 3 hours for each semester according to amcas, and i've taken all of the pre-reqs but only have 6 hours, not 8. my labs are with the classes and not a separate class. emory asks for 8 hours but i only have 6 🙁 help!

I would call Emory and explain this to them and ask what to do. I'm sure it'll be fine, it seems like your school just has a different scale it uses for the credits.

yeah, I think that's because at every school in the US that I can think of, a course with lab counts for at least 4 hours -- a 3 hour class is lecture-only. So the 8 hour requirement is to make sure that you have lab. Call them and explain that you did have lab, and ask what to do.

(3 hours + 1 hour of lab) x 2 = 8 hours

Emory's undergrad classes are 4 hours each so they may just go by that standard too. it was easy meeting all the amcas and tmdsas requirements having graduated from good ole EU 😀
