I got accepted to both programs and have basically a week to figure out which school. Does anyone have any input???
Emory, hands down if cost is not an issue. They are both excellent schools it's a good problem to have! Congratulations. Sounds like there are people waiting for a spot to open up at Emory!I got accepted to both programs and have basically a week to figure out which school. Does anyone have any input???
seriously... two days ago, I was preparing for the next cycle. And now I have a choice.. crazy!
wow in two consecutive days!

I'd say GRU. Both are great programs but I really liked the faculty I met at GRU, especially Dr. Hasson. I've also worked with really great clinicians from GRU. Plus there is no way I could justify the cost difference between the two, but that's just me.
Well, I would save money going to Emory because I live in the area; therefore i'd live at home with my parents. I've calculated the cost, and at the end of three years, I would only spend an extra 30,000 by going to Emory. I say only because I thought the number would be much much higher.
I also really loved GRU - both students and faculty. But was turned off by the idea that GRU numbered us from 1-100 based on stats alone. They waitlisted me while Emory accepted me right off the bat.
@redrose424 is GRU the school you will be attending?
At the end of the day, 30,000 is still a lot. I believe their tuition and fees alone are 110k vs the 50k from GRU at the end of the day. How close are you to Emory? Are you going to commute? I'm also not sure if they numbered us 1-100 on stats alone.. I'm not sure what you mean. I know I was told I was their third choice (accepted after the first interview) and my stats are not all that great.
No, I was accepted to both GRU and GSU. I have decided to attend GSU.
Oh yea for sure. 30,000 isn't small. Tuition alone Emory is 101k and 50k GRU. I factored in living cost at 550/month for three years at GRU, which added up. Other than the cost, you would choose GRU because of the faculty?
I would commute - it's about a 20 minute drive for me!
Don't forget the class size (40 vs 60?) Also, if money isn't an issue, Emory would be the winner but the truth is... money does become an issue as a new grad making 63k at an outpt clinic with 100-150k in debt. I've met and spoke with many Emory grads and although they are all proud alumni, many encourage other schools especially since these PTs are getting the same jobs and getting paid the same amount regardless of where they went.Well, I would save money going to Emory because I live in the area; therefore i'd live at home with my parents.
