Dear Wrigleyville:
This note is to inform you that movement has finally begun on our
alternate list. I'm sure you may have questions about how the alternate
list works, and I hope this information will help. Please read the
following information carefully.
At this time, please think about your status on the alternate list and
if you truly would accept an offer of admittance to Emory. If I am
fortunate enough to get to call you, you will have 48 hours to make a
decision.
If your decision to attend Emory may be based on your financial aid
package, please complete the FAFSA and Profile forms immediately (info
below). If your information is not complete, you may have to make a
decision without knowing your financial assistance award.
If you are accepted off the alternate list and choose to attend Emory,
AMCAS requires that you immediately withdraw from any school where you
are holding. If you do not do this, your acceptance may be revoked.
At this time, if you have solidified your plans for next year and are
no longer interested in holding on our alternate list, kindly email a
note of withdrawal to
[email protected].
Please note that we do not rank our alternate list. We will look at
your show of interest, interview day evaluations, and overall application
to make our decisions. Feel free to send updates by email or regular
mail, and make sure your contact information is up to date so we can
reach you. If you have a cell phone number, please let us know at
[email protected].
The alternate list movement is quite slow. We can only accept people
as others withdraw from the class, to keep the class size at 112.
Please be patient with us. AMCAS allows us to accept applicants up until
our M1 Orientation, which is Wednesday, July 23, 2003.
If you would like consideration for financial aid, please go ahead have
the PROFILE and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
sent to the appropriate agencies.
Note: The FAFSA can be completed on-line, using code 001564, at:
http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/. The PROFILE can be completed on-line, using
code 0140, at:
http://profileonline.cbreston.org/ The Emory Financial Aid Office phone
number is 800.727.6039 and the website with specific info is
www.emory.edu/FINANCIAL_AID/. The Financial Aid Liaison for the
medical
school is Yolanda Hood. If you have financial aid questions, please
contact her at
[email protected] or 404.727.5683.
I hope you are enjoying the summer. Please feel free to contact me if
you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Erica Black
