Hi,

I was just wondering if any of the DO schools verify employment information. I am working for a company right now that will be going out of business. Should I have my supervisor write a letter stating my employment there or would this be not necessary? Thank you.

I don't think anyone really checks this although I suppose they probably could. They expect honesty on your app in areas such as this. They may ask about employment experience in the interview but in general you should be just fine. Just list it on your app and your good to go without going into details about the business closing etc.

They will most likely never check so I wouldn't worry about that too much. Besides all that can be legally verified is that you work there from such and such a date. Its not worth the time. It may help to have one letter of recommendation from anemployer that says what you have been up to since leaving school. I know a few MD schools actually required it. Though no DO schools did.

My employers were never contacted.
