Did you know that the Emergency Medicine Resident's Association (EMRA) is not just for residents? EMRA has a Medical Student Governing Council and Medical Student Council (http://www.emra.org/emra_about.aspx?id=34696) to support the education of medical students about the specialty of emergency medicine and provide information to those students regarding career options and emergency medicine training programs. One of the goals of EMRA is to establish a contact at every medical school and/or the emergency medicine interest group of each medical school. EMRA Medical Student Events at ACEP Scientific Assembly
The Emergency Medicine Residents’ Association will be holding their annual Medical Student Forum and Residency Fair during ACEP’s Scientific Assembly being held in Chicago this year.

Below is the schedule of events for the Medical Student Forum, no registration is required but an RSVP at [email protected] would be greatly appreciated:

Sunday, Oct 26th

8:00 am What Residency is Right for Me? Stephen Wolf, MD, FACEP - Denver Health

9:00 am Strengthening Your Residency Application David Howes, MD, FACEP - Univ. of Chicago

10:00 am Interview Day Tips Peter Sokolove, MD, FACEP -Univ. of CA/Davis

11:00 am Getting into the Residency of Your Choice Peter DeBlieux, MD, FACEP -LSU, New Orleans

12:00 pm “Why Choose Emergency Medicine?" Panel Discussion with Program Directors (lunch provided)

1:00 pm Career Paths in Emergency Medicine Kristin Harkin, MD, FACEP - NY Presbyterian

3:00 pm - 5:00 pm EMRA Residency Fair – Greater than 100 residency programs have confirmed their attendance to date!

In addition, medical students are welcome to attend any of the EMRA meetings they wish including the Medical Student Governing Council meeting being held on Saturday, October 25th, the committee meetings being held on Wednesday October 29th and any of the Board meetings being held throughout the week.
