I like the online podcast - quiz - CME certificate model because it’s convenient. Although I have been a subscriber for a while, i am getting a bit disgruntled about emrap lately. Any recommended alternatives?
Is it the useless rural medicine tidbits or the be kind and support mid-levels segments?I like the online podcast - quiz - CME certificate model because it’s convenient. Although I have been a subscriber for a while, i am getting a bit disgruntled about emrap lately. Any recommended alternatives?
I used to be "into" emrap, but now I'm "over" it. Looking to get "close to" something else, mostly so I don't turn into one of those out of touch docs I wouldn't let near my family, at least until it's my time to become one. Unfortunately my group subscription just re-upped, so that's gone from my CME.I'm literally listening to EMRAP right now and the guy talking just apologized for saying 'physician.' He sheepishly corrected himself to 'clinician.'
They won't even use the word 'doctor' anymore. Everyone goes by their first name.
Swami recently tweeted that doctor is no different than mid-level.
I too am looking for new audio CME. They are actively devaluing our profession.
edit: Finished this month's podcast. I'm torn because I personally like the content, but the absolute lack of respect for physicians kills me and puts me in a foul mood. I unsubscribed from it in my podcast app. Will see if I can get a partial refund.
As for alternatives, I'm considering emedhome and/or hippo...

Are you doing Annals still? I think my podcast feed probably died when my ACEP membership died.Ooh ooh listen to meeeeeeeeee

Last person I'd listen to a medical podcast by is Karl "head like a f**king orange" Pilkington. We just launched this show that offers 1hour of free CME/month. No strings attached, just a fast paced breakdown of recent papers.

Everything I know I learned from the Ricky Gervais show. Who doesn't want to hear a tale of sitting in a cafe watching a cat lick its bollocks?Last person I'd listen to a medical podcast by is Karl "head like a f**king orange" Pilkington.

I don't know what this is, but it just sounds quite stupid. It sounds like a Ricky Gervais thing (and he is much older than me, so it's not an age thing), but, if you are going to do it, either make it plain, or take it elsewheres.Everything I know I learned from the Ricky Gervais show. You miss the point. Your disapprobation is misplaced. I don't know if your name on SDN is your given name. I don't know if your head "looks like an orange", or this is some other "Karl Pilkington", which is a name with which I am, otherwise, not familiar. And, to that, you reply with a cat licking its own testicles. Thanks for your critique of our comments.
Not understanding something doesn't mean it "sounds stupid"
It's a Ricky Gervais thing and is actually pretty witty and clever. Not sure anything needs to taken elsewhere.

No, haven't seen it. Something rings a bell about having seen a commercial for it, but I don't even recall which channel, much less anything about it.You've never seen "An Idiot Abroad" starring UK commoner Karl Pilkington?
If not, you're missing out on some of the funniest TV in existence.
Very fair point. But no need to openly praise midlevels and consider them equals (literally, word for word). You can market to them and leave it at that.No one is going to put significant effort into a CME product and not try to recruit the large mid-level customer base into their services.
Are you looking for merely easy CME credit or actual content?
