Are you guys aware of any national database of updated current standarized EMS protocols or something of the like? Something that directors can compare their protocols to, etc?

Some google searches should be productive. NJ, PA, MA, and DE have statewide protocols, which are all online. A lot of services will post their protocols and also many medics and EMTs will share them online.

Iowa state protocols - I work under them and I think they are pretty good
There is a program for the iPhone - Paramedic Protocol Provider - that is a small fee but you can download various protocols from various services in the US.
Wake County, NC has some good protocols online too.
