EMT application... help

im trying to write a half decent essay so i can be selected to work as an emt....

essay is on why a want to be an emt.

anything important i should try to say besides the obvoious things like for the experience and to help people???

I would emphasize that when you are called, people are likely at one of the lowest points in their life, and that you want to be there to help them get a handle on the situation and allow them the chance to get on top of it again.

That's kinda how I feel about it...assuming that you're going for emergency calls and not transport...for transport...wow...ummmm...heheheh

Seriously though, for transport the patients are in need as well, perhaps not as serious to us, but they might not have the support groups that we take for granted daily, they need someone to be there and transport them, but also they need compassion and care during a stressful time.

Is this for a paid or volunteer position??

If volunteer then your involvement will directlly benefit your community because you're providing an invaluable service.

An essay to be an emt, wow, I just talked to a guy about a job...sounds like emts must be a different job where you're at.
