troll. CNA is not on the same level as an EMT.

Has anyone seen those EMT cover license plates?

Wouldn't it be more prestigious to have a CNA plates? Yet I've never seen CNA plates.

Its more about the perceived fraternity in the emergency services than anything else.

Also, isn't EMT certification more in depth than CNA?

Yes to both.

People get EMS plates in hopes that they won't get speeding tickets. Correlation != causation, but I never got a ticket when I had EMS plates...

I did get parking tickets, but meter maids aren't EMS in any way/shape/form.

I don't know if its about tickets, but people are proud about it, and look for ways to connect with others who share their interests. I have a tiny star-of-life on my windshield. I put it there more or less to let people know I'm there to help if they need it. I have a front station plate, but that has some utility when I'm on a scene.

That being said, cops always let me go, and I'm pretty sure meter maids have a vendetta against me.

Those plates truly work wonders to get you out of speeding tickets. I'm not saying that I couldn't get one...just that I probably get an extra 5-10 mph over a car with normal tags before I get pulled over.

The cop isn't going to see your EMT plates until AFTER he pulls you over

Not necessarily. Have you never had a police officer follow you for a minute before he turns on his lights?

Same as firefighter plates. It feels good to be a public servant and for the state it's another way to make money.

I'm not sure if it'll help you get out of a ticket or not, but thats definitely a cool christmas present! I may get one for myself 🙂

But on a semi-serious note, I think you're right. It feels good to be an EMS public servant and having the confidence that you know what to do should a medical emergency arise is pretty cool in itself.
