I have a little problem, here. First, to explain why it's just now come about, I didn't know I had to provide transcripts for my EMT coursework until recently, as it wasn't through an accredited college. It is, however, an accredited EMT program, for what it's worth. Regardless, I've been told I in fact must provide these transcripts.

Anyway, I was finally able to have the program ship my transcripts to AACOMAS. The problem? They're completely inaccurate. They attest that I earned an 85% B when I KNOW I received an A. No quiz or test I took in the course was below a 92%. The transcript, in fact, lists all my test scores with the highest being an 88%. I assure you, I did not receive a B in this course.

I'm not sure what to do about this. If I let it be, I risk hurting my GPA. I've contacted AACOMAS and they can't give me a definitive answer as to whether it will be included in my GPA. On the other hand, if I pursue correcting this, I will surely delay my application, no?

Somebody. Anybody. Help.

Is it a single course? How many credits? Realistically how much could it hurt your GPA?

A week or two delay probably won't hurt.

Find out why your first transcript was messed up, correct it, and have your program send in another one along with a letter of apology stating there was a confusion and to disregard the first one.

That's what I would do. Good luck.

10 credits of 3.0 will likely hurt my GPA, though not my sGPA. And I am an underdog applicant--a week or two might hurt.

Finding out why it was messed up is fairly problematic. I emailed the person who sent the transcripts (who is also, unfortunately, in charge of that entire aspect of the program) to inform her that they were inaccurate. Her response was very succinct and a little condescending: "Those are your grades; that is your transcript."

I have now emailed the instructor of the course. I had formed a rapport with him and I'd like to think he coud attest to the fact that I was a stellar student. That's my best path in resolving the transcript inaccuracy at this point, but I'm slightly dubious of a quick turnaround.

The sad thing is this is slowly becoming a seemingly unprecedented situation. I've talked to my premed advisor and she doesn't know what to do. I've called and emailed AACOMAS--even they don't know what I should do. They can't even tell me whether the grade will factor into my GPA!

Relax about your GPA. At this point, it is what it is. @&!$ happens. I'm sorry that this has happened to you. Hope your instructor can help you out. Perhaps your other grades can make up for it, or you can ask the instructor to write to AACOMAS.

If it will ease your mind, keep asking whether it will factor in your GPA or not. Hopefully it won't 😀

10 credits of B .sucks. That is a GPA killer. I hope everything works out for you and things get resolved. 🙂

I have nothing useful to contribute to a resolution, but I wish you the best of luck getting all of this resolved without affecting your GPA or chances of matriculating into medical school. It sounds like a nightmare.
