Hello everyone!
I'm going to be reapplying to med school so I think working as an EMT would be a good way to get a hands on clinical experience. So those certified...I know the hours vary but what are typical hours or hours you work? How was the certification test?(I'm also going to be studying for the MCAT concurrently) Any words of advice/encouragement as I embark on this journey? Thanks in advance.

Im currently enrolled in the course so I cant comment on the exam but the shifts are usually either 8, 12, or 24 hrs in length depending on whether you are commersial or volunteer.

Everyone seems to feel differently about the tests. I thought the written was enough to drive me to drink, but the hands on was cake. Others in my class, however, felt just the opposite.

Good luck with it tho, I'm not sure I would have done it just for clinical experience to get into medical school. It's a tough life.
