Seven Magic Words -- I can do all things through Christ.

The hardest part of faith is often learning to wait. And the trouble is, if we don't wait on God, and we try to fix the problem sometimes we make it worse. We can complicate the situation to the point where it will take God much longer to fix it than if we had just waited for God to do the work in the first place. God's timing is a mystery to us. But we can't give up in frustration...we just have to keep on believing and waiting on God.
Ask for what you want, but be willing to take what God gives you. It may be better than what you ask for.

Four Ways God Answers Prayers:
If the request is wrong, God says, No.
If the timing is wrong, God says, Slow.
If you are wrong, God says, Grow.
But if the request is right, the timing is right and you are right, God says, GO.

Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. - Albert Einstein

Bits & Pieces......
Good judgement comes from experience; experience comes from bad judgment.
The pessimist is sometimes proved right, but the optimist enjoys the trip more.
On the edge of a cliff the wise do not do cartwheels.
If at first you do not succeed - expect a lot of advice!

Success is not final, failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts. - Winston Churchill

If only......There are a lot of "if onlys" in life and it is hard not to look back & second guess ourselves. But by focusing on the past we may lose the blessings of today. We give up the peace that comes from knowing that God is soverign & He will work all things together for our good. The longer we dwell on the past the more likely it is we will miss out on future plans God has for us. So, do not focus on the unchangeable past. Look towards the future with hope & anticipation of what God has in store for you. "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him." 1 Corinthians 2:9
If I didn't have spiritual faith, I would be a pessimist. But, I'm an optimist. I've read the last page of the Bible; it's going to turn out all right. Billy Graham

Love & Kindness are never wasted......

Some roads aren't meant to be traveled alone......Have you ever wondered why you came upon a desperate situation? Or discovered a friend battling a difficult circumstance in health, relationships or finances? God very often places us where prayer is needed. YOU ARE NEVER ALONE…

Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; though shalt cry, and He shall say, here I am. Isaiah 58:9

Just a thought…….Fear comes when you believe you can do nothing and neither can God about whatever situation you are dealing with.

Romans 4:20-21 Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what He had promised.

Abraham looked through the difficulties that he & Sarah faced and believed that the word from God was greater.

Bits & Pieces………

Seize the day & put the least possible trust in tomorrow.

The only disability in life is a bad attitude.

The greater part of our happiness depends on our disposition and not our circumstances.

In Matthew 28:20 Jesus said, “I am with you always, even unto the end of the world”.

In Hebrews 13:5 God promises us “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee”.

We can’t always smooth out the surf…..but we can learn to ride the waves.

FAITH: It gives us the strength to go on when we want to give in. It gives us the courage to get up when we want to lie down. It gives us the power to make a way when there doesn’t seem to be a way. With faith or without it, we can’t stop the waves. But with it, we don’t need to, because with it we can ride the surf.

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for God who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23

Life normally isn’t the way it’s supposed to be. It is the way it is.

The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.

Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; HE rises to show you compassion.
For the LORD is a God of Justice. Blessed are all who wait for Him.
Isaiah 30:18

Life is continually changing; just about the time we think we have things kind of figured out, It’s time to go in a different direction.

Isaiah 43:18-19 Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.

Isaiah says not to look back and long for what used to be – “do not dwell on the past”. God is creating something NEW. Change can be difficult, but don’t miss the blessing God has for you today by longing for yesterday.

Look at the birds_

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Matthew 6:26

Have you ever seen a bird sitting in a tree having a nervous breakdown? Or ever seen a bird pacing back & forth saying to himself, “Oh, I wonder where my next worm is coming from? I need worms! What if God quits making worms today? I don’t know what I would do. Maybe I would starve to death! What if God keeps making worms, but they aren’t juicy this year or what if He doesn’t send any rain, and no worms come out of the ground? What if I can’t find straw to build my nests?”

Jesus says in Matthew 6…. “Look at the birds!” God provides for them, He will provide for us too.

Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.

Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34

Worry is a misuse of the imagination.

Our mind can be a factory of fear & worry or a fountain of faith.

· Tip for the day…

Where “if” and “when” are planted “nothing” grows

That’s the secret of life replace one worry with another……Charlie Brown

Ø Is that really the secret of life??

Matthew 6:27 says: “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?”

Of course the answer is no one. So then WHAT?

Philippians 4:8 tells us…whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.

If we take our concerns to the Lord in prayer & then continue to worry about them, then we are mixing a positive & a negative force. Prayer is a positive force, worry is a negative force……..

………added together they equal zero.

So stay in the positive by trusting God, and refusing to worry.

However, don’t expect a thousand dollar answer to a ten cent prayer !!

Have a great day !!!!!!!!

Courage: Fear that has said its prayers

When you pass through the waters I will be with you; and when through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, nor will the flame burn you. For I am the Lord, your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior;........Since you are precious in My sight, since you are honored and I love you.....do not fear, for I am with you. Isaiah 43:2-5

God did not say the rushing waters wouldn't come. He did not say we wouldn't see the flames or feel the heat. He said in the rushing waters, He would be with us. He said in the middle of the fire, He would be with us.

Sometimes you just have to let go to realize what is actually yours. You have to stop running to see what is right in front of you. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. 1Peter 4:8

A successful life isn't about work or money - it's about people.

It's not always easy to see why we are placed in certain situations. But, God sees how our lives cross paths with others', both now & also in times to come, where we can't see. He places us in situations, often not for our own benefit, but for the benefit of others. Sometimes it helps when we find ourselves in places & circumstances that are a mystery to us to consider that we may have been placed where we are as the answer to someone else's prayers. Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it. Hebrews 13:2

The application process has started again and problems will occur. So stay strong and focused on your ultimate goal....to become a pharmacist!

Five Ways God Uses Problems

The problems you face will either defeat you or develop you depending on how you respond to them. Unfortunately, most people fail to see how God wants to use problems for good in their lives. They react foolishly and resent their problems rather than pausing to consider what benefit they might bring. Here are five ways God wants to use the problems in your life:

1. God uses problems to DIRECT you.

Sometimes God must light a fire under you to get you moving. Problems often point us in a new direction and motivate us to change. Is God trying to get your attention? Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not unto your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

2. God uses problems to INSPECT you.

People are like tea bags. . . if you want to know whats inside them, just drop them into hot water! Has God tested your faith with a problem? What do problems reveal about you? When you have many kinds of troubles, you should be full of joy, because you know that these troubles test your faith, and this will give you patience. James 1:2-3

3. God uses problems to CORRECT you.

Some lessons we learn only through pain and failure. Its likely that as a child your parents told you not to touch a hot stove, but you probably learned by being burned. Sometimes we only learn the value of something by loosing it. It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes. Psalm 119:72

4. God uses problems to PROTECT you.

A problem can be a blessing in disguise if it prevents you from being harmed by something more serious. Last year, a friend was fired for refusing to do something unethical that his boss had asked him to do. His unemployment was a problem but it saved him from being convicted and sent to prison a year later when managements actions were eventually discovered. You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good. Genesis 50:20

5. God uses problems to PERFECT you.

Problems, when responded to correctly, are characters builders. God is far more interested in your character than your comfort. Your relationship to God and your character are the only two things youre going to take with you into eternity. We can rejoice when we run into problems. . . they help us learn to be patient. And patience develops strength of character in us and helps us trust God more each time we use it until finally our hope and faith are strong and steady. Romans 5:3-4

Heres the point: God is at work in your life even when you dont recognize it or understand it. But its so much easier when you surrender to his plan for your life.

When God plants a dream in your heart look beyond where you are ... plan, prepare & stay determined to see it through to the end. Put one foot in front of the other & don't look back. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow."

----When fear comes in uninvited, don't give it a chair to sit in!

Best wishes to everyone going through the application process! 🙂

I can tell you honestly, in my life, I have failed more than I have succeeded. I have been denied from my top choice schools, jobs, ect... For every success, it seems 5 failures accompany it. But in the end, no one knows remembers your failures, but they notice your success. These successes build on top of one another, to make you stronger. If you don't try, you don't fail, you don't succeed. So I always think to myself, "Will I get accepted into this job/school?" I don't know, but I know that I won't get it if I don't apply!

In my pharmacy application process, I thought I would be lucky if I got into U of Pacific (a third-tier school). People have told me I would be wasting my time if I applied to schools like UCSD, UCSF and I believed them. A week before the applications were due, I changed my mind and decided that I would waste my money and maybe get really lucky. I was extremely surprised later to find all my top choice schools wanted to interview me. When U of Pacific asked for the interview, I was the one who turned them down... something I thought would never happen!

I'm not going to flatter myself by thinking that I am intelligent. Sometimes I feel like I have to work twice as hard as my classmates to do as well. There are many people who are much smarter than me. Yet they don't see very far ahead-- perhaps they're afraid of failing. Though they are smarter, I have carried myself farther. I may not be blessed with great genes, but my determination is something no one can take away.

You will meet people on this forum, and in life, who seem that everything they touch turns into gold. Just remember: you see their success, not their failures, so don't give up!
