Hello SDN members!

I have a question about endo residency requirement. What is the NBDE part 1 score and GPA that will get you into an endo residency? I am particularly looking at UPENN endo program. I would greatly appreciate any advice. Thank you much guys!

If you want info that specific why don't you just call the program? And why Penn? Ivy? Philly?

Most of the endo talk I've seen on here goes like this "endo is the hardest specialty to get into straight from d-school -- they really like to see some work experience or a GPR".

I see. I am actually planning on visiting Penn for it. I chose Penn because first of all, they offer 2 year endo residency program. I am a career changer so I am 6 years older than majority of students in my class. Also I am married so I want to get out quick and start working. Second UPENN is the closest from where my family lives that offers 2 year program. Lastly, Ivy.

I actually read that from endo discussion too, but I wasn't sure if that is true because I get mixed answers when I ask people at my school. Thank you for replying!

UPenn will bust your wallet (as will some other endo/specialty programs, anyway). http://www.dental.upenn.edu/academic/DADEprogram/endo/fees.html

What about Temple's 2 year endo? This is straight from their site

The program does accept students straight out of dental school, however, preference in admission is given to academically-accomplished applicants with previous clinical practice experience, prior research accomplishment, and/or graduates of general residencies (GPR) or advanced general dentistry (AEGD) programs.
