A patient is found to have a hormone-secreting tumor of the adrenal medulla chromaffin cells. Release of which of the following hormones would be most increased?
A. Aldosterone
B. Androgens
C. Cortisol
D. Epinephrine
E. Norepinephrine

Answer: E

I chose D. Why not D? The solution doesn't really explain the reason. I chose D b/c 80% of the catecholamine produced by adrenal medulla is EPI whereas 20% is Norepi.

Can anyone help me out?
Many thanks.

Most pheochromocytomas' (about 80% of them) produce norepinephrine predominantly.
Only a few produce epinephrine (less commonly seen).
Pheochromocytoma-producing dopamine tumor is extremely rare but possible.

So seems like kaplan was going with the Most Common.
