Did you get into residency right out of school, or did you practice for a few years first? If the second option, did you do a GPR?
In the corporate job, what was your autonomy like? Quality of staff, materials (like a microscope, etcetera), and so forth?
How was private compared to corporate regarding the questions right above? Same with the non-profit.
A colorectal surgeon I work with laments having to network with other providers to get referrals (he calls it "whoring himself out"), would you say this was the worst part of owning: trying to get referrals?
Was the settings urban, suburban, rural, or something else during your career?
Yes public health. I’m there right now and it has been great. Some people are tough to deal with, but patients are super nice. I have all these other ventures I am involved with so the extra time and flexibility here is great! Just depends on what your goals are. Hope that helps!Do you mean that you were working in public health by nonprofit? How was that experience?
Right out of school. No GPR
I was in the endo honors program at my school. Always talked with the endo residents. Went to AAE. Emailed all the program directors.Could you talk about the things you did to make yourself a competitive applicant during school? Did you feel you were at a disadvantage compared to GPR/AEGD grad or practicing dentists at any point of the process (interview trail and residency itself)?
Not too hard. Of course I learned a lot in practice. Private practice was in a beach town in Socal. Good fees. Was doing 3-4 cases a day in my practice. I never worked as a GP.How difficult was your transition from residency to private practice? How many cases did you do per day and how did you ramp up? How did it compare to working as a GP?
Start up. GP practices are bread and butter. You can always acquire specialty practices later. Just depends on your cup of tea 🙂Is the order you listed the experiences the order in which you practiced the different clinical situations? Specific to ownership, did you buy an existing office or start-up? It's cool you have experienced so many different practice models. Can you elaborate on what you mean by "industry is changing so I am considering buying general dentist offices".
THanks!
Knowledge and experience, just like anything elseWhat nuances in the practice of Endodontics come with doing thousands of treatments? What makes the difference clinically between a gp adept in Endodontics and a specialist?
Thanks
Student loans was 300. Was paid for residency. Wide range. Up to 400 if you work 5 days a week . If you jammed your schedule and have good fees prob 450-500. Most make around 300 if it was my guess for average unless you are in a super saturated areaCan you talk about numbers with student loans, and income range over your career?

Start up, corp and traveling together, and now public health. I took the public health route because I want to start an endo school to help GPs do endoThanks for your reply. Was your experience after school: Coporate, Pvt Practice (associate), start-up, and now public health, in that order? Did you ever mix and match the above at the same time?
Do you still own the start up? if no, did you sell to a DSO, another solo endo, or to who?
Thanks
