This class is listed under physics. Description is below. Do you think it'll count toward BCPM?

No prerequiistes.
The physics, economics, and polluting properties of the three conventional power sources: coal, oil, and natural gas (including gasification of coal and oil shale). Studies solar power and discusses conservation of energy in home and industry. Considers the more important advantages and shortcomings and the environmental impacts of aspects of wind, tidal, geothermal, and magneto-hydrodynamic power; the hydrogen economy; and nuclear power, including fusion. Where appropriate, considers the possible use of these in transportation systems. Gives causes of energy crises and proposes various suggestions for a national energy policy.

Why would you take that? I just don't see what purpose it serves. I try to take classes that have some relevance or that I'm interested in.

I'm interested in learning about potential solutions for current oil/energy dependence in the US. It'd get bonus points from me if it counts for bcpm.

If it's under physics, I bet it probably would would count towards BCPM.

I also agree with you that it's ok to branch out and not take things strictly related to medicine. Quite a few people say you'll have the whole rest of your life to study medicine, take some other classes now and enjoy them and learn some other stuff too. There are a few who regret that they didn't.

Then for sure take it if you're interested in it. I suppose I was projecting my feelings onto your class. I'm sure it would count.

if it's offered by the physics department then yes it will go under BCPM.
I would take it if it's something you're interested in, it will just be an extra good grade to add to your BCPM. plus when else will you get the chance to take a class like that?
