Hi everyone! I'm a biomedical engineer from Duke applying to med school without a gap year and was wondering if you all knew specific schools that like engineering students. I know I've heard that some don't as well, and if you could name those, that'd be super useful too. Don't want to waste money applying to those schools. Thanks so much!! 🙂

My stats are: GPA: 3.97, BCPM: 4.0, MCAT: 521

My current school list looks something like this:

Duke
University of Cincinnati School of Medicine
Carle Illinois College of Medicine
Ohio State Universiy
Case Western Reserve University (CCLCM)
Vanderbilt
Johns Hopkins
Weill Cornell Medicine
Icahn School of Medicine (Mount Sinai)
University of Virginia School of Medicine
Pritzker School of Medicine (Uchicago)
Yale School of Medicine
Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons
Feinberg School of Medicine (Northwestern)
Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine
Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth
University of Toledo School of Medicine
Wright State Boonshoft School of Medicine
Perelman School of Medicine (Upenn)
Harvard Medical School
Washington University
University of Pittsburg
University of Michigan
Georgetown
SUNY
VCU School of Medicine

I don't know if they have a known affinity for engineers, but a doctor I shadowed was mechE and went to Cincinnati.

Edit: Sorry! Just realized Cincinnati is literally the second school on your list
