So for my biological heat and mass transfer class we have to find current research or journal articles involving heat transfer and then mathermatically model the situation using a bunch of fairly crude aproximations.

We don't have to know anything about the medical details/ physiology, but it just needs to be a real procedure or real research that is being done.

We will need to aproximate the body as a cylinder of constant radius. I figured infants seemed better modeled as a cylinder than adults, does that seem about right to you all?

I was also curious what sort of of hypothermia related procedures are currently being used or researched. I was searching online and it seems like I was finding alot of really old research journals.

Of if you had any other ideas of some sort of medically related heat transfer that I could model that would be helpful.

Second, you REALLY couldn't find any evidence about the use of hypothermia in pediatrics?? 😕

This is the hottest (confused pun intended) thing around. Look up "head cooling" for "birth asphyxia" and you'll find all you need.
