Hi. I'm thinking about taking this course to satisfy the English requirement for med schools.

Course Title: Prose: Style & Argument
Course Description: An introduction to the practice of non-fictional prose with particular emphasis on the development of argument (logic, evidence, proof) and on fitting language to its occasions (voice, diction, figures).

Is this okay? Some of my friends said it sounds to "sciency" to be an english course. I have no idea what they mean...maybe they need to take it themselves, lol.

sciency??? there's nothing scientific about prose.

it's clearly a nonfiction writing course, which focuses on the argumentative and personal essay.

it's most definitely an english course, and im hoping its offered by the english department? according to AMCAS, any course offered by an english department is an english qualifying course, even if its a class on JRR Tolkien.

take it. sounds very interesting and useful. sciency? i hope your friends rnt people who have never actually taken a science classs....
