Hello

I am from Canada and I am planning to apply to American and Canadian medical schools (MD and DO) this summer to be admitted during 2010. However, I have not finished the all the prerequisite courses (ie. English) yet. My question is, when is the deadline for completing such pre-med required courses. I am planning to fulfil them during 2009-2010 year, would they still be considered fulfilled even if I took them after the application has been done this summer?

I know for AMCAS, you can list the courses that you plan to take in the future. You should list the English course as future course. Once you are accepted, they will request your final transcript before you officialy start med school.
Not sure If there is a space for such things in the D.O apps.

Thank you

Yeah it's the same for DO apps. Just mark them as "future" or whatever the designation is. 👍

Starting at a DO school in July, just finished english on thursday 👍

It also doesn't make much of a difference where you complete the courses at. I took my english through a dual enrollment program with a community college while I was still in high school. Didn't pose any problems for me. It's really just the science courses that it might make a difference in.

hey I'm from Canada too. Toronto to be exact. Yeah even finishing the english this summer is ok. Just indicate it is undergoing in the application, and update later. Before you matriculate into the school, you gotta re-send all transcript anyway.
