Hey guys, I'm from Queen's in Canada, 3rd year biochemistry, applying this cycle. I've been told that many American schools will want an English credit, so I'm going to take ENGL 100 (full semester course) over the summer this year.

1) Will this be acceptable for admissions? I'm 99% sure yes, but just in case...
2) Will this impact my admissions schedule? I know American schools work on rolling admissions, so I'm not sure if my application will be considered "done" when I get the credit for my course...which will be in August...

Thanks guys. My first post here, so sorry if it's in the wrong place - the threads the forum autosearch brought up didn't really answer any of my questions.

As long as it is a writing class, you will be fine for 1.

For 2, you just need to complete the courses before matriculation.

Yup, you can tell them about pending grades, then just send a transcript after the class is complete to update your transcript on the app site. It won't delay them considering your application.

Here's the thing. If the OP waits for a grade to submit the AMCAS, then the OP may have to submit later than planned. At in six weeks for verification at that point and the OP could be late. Most schools do not require prereqs to be complete at application. If this is the case with all the schools you want to apply to, then submit the AMCAS on the first day possible for verification. Just save the grades for an update letter. You would send an update to each school about your new grades. After verification, for the most part nothing new goes to AMCAS.

Cool stuff, thanks a lot guys. I guess the answer is just to email the adcom of every school I'm applying to, then?
