I've signed up for an English course called Visual Culture, but I am not sure if this will satisfy the english prerequisite.
Previous applicants said most of the US schools accepted this course as an English credit, but the course outline changed this term and it no longer has essay components.
Shall I take a different English course? Or is it okay to stick to this course?

Thank you.

do writing intensive courses count or does it have to be from the english dept. We have specific writimg intensive courses in depts like philosophy and history. I ap'ed out of english comp and i dont want to have to take an upper div in the english dept..

Depends on the school, I had to take a freshman writing class to even apply to Western since they don't take AP's.

Other schools I talked to said it had to be from the english department, but AP's count, and then other schools, like USC, said that as long as you have a degree, they waive all non-science requirements.

I'd still like to know, how do Adcom's decide whether or not a course is English composition or not just by looking at the title?
