Are there any English-language MD programs in countries like Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Holland, Switzerland, France and other more affluent European countries?

I am not interested in Ireland, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, England and Malta.

Nope. Not that I am aware of anyway.

However, try contacting "Orebro University" in Sweden. They MIGHT offer medicine course in English because they have recently been awarded the right to give out medical degrees.

University of Groningen in Holland offers a 3 year pre-clinical medical program in English (32,000 EUR/yr) after which, you have to apply separately for the clinical program (which is entirely in Dutch.)

University San-Rafaele, Italy also offers an English program (around 24,000 EUR I think)

Malta Medical school offers a 6 year program in English (also around 32,000 EUR/yr)

I hear they call the three year program "International Bachelor Programme in Medicine (BSc Medicine)" but it's just pre-medical work, isn't it? Their website always seems to be down!

Is the BSc Medicine equivalent to the MD?

hi, i have some information for you,in university of milan and university of pavia in italy you can study medicine in english, for admission you have to pass an admission test than takes place 9th september in italy or if you want you can do it in england;in the test are 80 questions about logic, biology, chemistry and physics; tuition fees for year can vary from 800 euros to 3000 euros depending of your family incomes

No it's not equivalent to MD. But once you're done with the BSc program, you can directly apply for the 3 year clinical program, after which you get an MD. Either way, there's no way getting around the language part -- You have to be fluent in Dutch.

I am from Turkey and here there is an M.D. who had a life there in Sweden, had a long and succesful career, and turned back to Turkey decades later for a partnership of a hospital.. on a similar question, he told me that Sweden is not open to foreign students in med education.. and its med schools are in Swedish (maybe all, maybe most, I dont remember) ..

but Norwegian government has another approach, a socialist and open one.. to have university education is free :) they dont charge anything.. but Norway is expensive, and they wait for you to prove that you can take care of yourself during education, which means a good, fat bank account :(
