Hello all I am starting to fill out my AACOMAS application and had a quick question. The directions say to note at the end of your personal statement if you took courses outside of the English department to meet your school's English requirement, and to list what they were which applies to me (my school doesn't even have a English department). However I don't want to do this since it would eat up precious characters for my personal statement. Has anyone ignored these directions and just communicated with the schools your applying to directly that these courses met your English requirement. Thank you.

I'm assuming you're talking about this?
"English Requirement: If you fulfilled your undergraduate institution's English requirement with a course(s) outside of the English Department, list the appropriate course(s), up to six semester hours, as English. Make a notation that this course(s) was approved as fulfilling your English requirement by your institution at the end of the Personal Statement. Contact the AACOMAS office with any questions or irregularities."

To be honest, I didn't note this at the end of my PS, but categorized the class as English. I did note in the course description that it was "writing intensive." AACOMAS auditors passed it without question.

Andrew,

Where is the course description in the AACOMAS application?

My school didn't have an English requirement. \o/
