Ok, as a freshman I tested out of English I.

I took English II (got an A) and a communications writing intensive course in my senior year. I passed the Writen English Proficency Test (WEPT) prior to graduation (could have slept through it and still passed).

Anyway, on my transcripts, I only show 1 English class, and something like 4 hours on my verified app.

Now every DO school requires 6. Will most schools understand that I have had a substantial amount of English coursework or do I need to arrange to take a freshman level English course sometime this year?

Thoughts, comments, thread already derailed due to Simpsons reference in title?

i believe that as long as you satisfied your school's english/writing requirements, it should be okay with the med schools. i never took a course in the english department in my life. to satisfy my schools english requirements, i took a seminar class my freshman year (for my lower level writing class), and then took a math course that satisfied my upper-level writing requirements (even though it was in the math department we had alot of papers to write..it was an insurance class). it was fine for me with the med schools since the courses i did take satisfied my undergrad's requirement. eventhough u tested out of freshman english, i would still think the same idea applies.

maybe it's also a good idea to check with the med schools u are interested in to be sure. but i really think it should be fine..good luck!
