Hello, I have a question about my english requirement.

I have only taken 1 english class, which was my Writing I class, and I have received my Writing II credit by taking a specialized course called GE Cluster at UCLA.

I am also anthropology major, and I write so much for all my classes. Basically, most of my classes are writing classes.

Would this suffice my writing requirement, or should I take the writing II class separately that is offered by the english department?

Also, is it possible to P/NP english requirement?

Thank you.

Some schools void this requirement once you get your degree, so check w/ UCLA.

...but Anthropology is a joke, you'd better have close to a 4.0 if you want to get in...

No need to flame, thanks for the input, though.

Why do you say anthropology is a joke? What do you know, as a non-anthro major?

True, its much easier to PASS the class, but it is still only top 15% or so who end up with an A in the class.

It's hard to fail, but still same difficulty to get an A, since its relative grading anyways.

Can anyone provide a more clear cut answer that sticks to the topic of the question?

Hey sfoksn,

If I were you, I would definitely take the class offered by the English department just to be safe. Also I would advise against taking it as P/NP because it is a prereq.. I guess taking a P/NP english class might be viewed the same as taking a P/NP Ochem class which is a big NO GO 😛.

@gorrillaunit18, though Anthropology may be considered easier than the traditional science majors, there's no need to flame the OP 😴. He/she is still taking all the other prereqs any of us predents are doing lol... Plus DS don't really care what major you are as long as you fullfill the prereqs and what not😀.
