I apologize if this has already been asked, but I wasn't able to find anything on a search.

When entering LOR writers, in the section that says "Specialty to which this letter will be assigned," what are we supposed to enter? Is it just whatever specialty we're applying into? Is this supposed to be something that's meant primarily for people who are applying to two specialties at the same time?

Thanks in advance! =)

Yes it's more for your reference. It helps those that are applying to multiple specialties, advanced and prelim/TYs, or have letters for specific programs. It just makes it easier to track when you upload the LORs.

Are abbreviations such as Prof. for Professor, Div for Division or Assist. for Assistant acceptable when entering the "LoR Author Title / Department" when finalizing LORs?

I always run of out space in this section.

Thanks.

I think that's just for your school's office to see. It doesn't matter.

how long do you currently have to wait until the letter is finalized in the Postoffice after the letter is uploaded by the LWP? I had one uploaded about a month ago and it was in the Postoffice within the same day, now I had two uploaded the last few days but they're not in the Postoffice yet (Dean's office notified though). I know ERAS says it will take them 1-2 weeks but since it happened so quickly a while back was wondering what others have experienced more recently. Just wondering since I am still waiting for one letter writer to upload the letter, and don't want it to come in after Sept 15th (have asked her multiple times, and she keeps on saying she's almost done, I know she's very busy but still hasn't uploaded it yet...)

It's completely dependent on your dean's office/letter writer. My understanding is that as soon as they upload it, it's there.
