Hey all,
I am taking the NPTE in a couple weeks and began applying to jobs a couple days ago. I already had an interview with a SNF in the Bay Area and they told me they would love to hire me and if I'm interested, we can talk numbers. Based on the interview with the DOR and tour of the center, I'm definitely interested but feel I should still try to get other interviews to compare.
MY QUESTION: I am lost when it comes to talking numbers...I have done my research and in the area I live in, the average salary is said to be between $92k-$99k. Now I would think this is very high for a new grad but I do know of a couple hospitals who start their new grads at $89k. What is an acceptable number to give an employer if they ask, or what is a good number to accept? I'm in the Bay Area of CA, cost of living is very high, and I just don't want to be low-balled!
Thanks for any input!
