Ok not sure if this has been addressed in another thread. But would anyone be willing to share the size envelope they got when they recieved an acceptance letter. I know some schools send out a generic acceptance/rejection letter but then send a larger packet out later to the acceptees; while others either send out an email or large packet to the acceptees right away. Any comments?

For Iowa State, my initial acceptance letter was small, smaller then a regular letter, card sized. For Colorado State, the envelope was much larger and thicker, 9 x 11 sized.

On another note, when I received my interview invite from Texas A&M it was so thin that I thought it was a rejection letter.

I was just asking around about UGA's envelope size today. What a coincidence! I think it makes me feel more nervous that I'll know immediately. I was planning on probably staring at the envelope for a while before getting the nerve up to open it. 😳

My Ohio State acceptance letter was in a small (standard business size) envelope. It was just a one page letter.

For previous years...

Rejection= 3x8 business-type thin envelope

Acceptance= 9x11?(unfolder piece of paper sized) thin envelope. They only send an initial acceptance letter to start. But I guess its unfolded so you can frame it or whatever. Other acceptance documents follow later.

Does the UGA letter go to the permanent or current address???

I can't speak for the actual acceptance letter, but my alternate status letter was just a one page regular letter size (folded).

Western sends out the same size for both acceptance or rejection.... the acceptance I recieved last year had a gold seal type thing...not sure if the rejections also had this or what the alternate list was sent out.

Ah! You beat me to it! If I hadn't found out the day before that I'd been accepted I would have assumed that the Ohio letter was a rejection and probably would not have opened it for a few days. 🙄 Oh, and I probably also would have walked around moping and feeling sorry for myself for a while.

My acceptance letter this year was in the same size envelope as my rejection letter from last year.

Last year, acceptance letters were sent in standard business envelopes; I nearly had a nervous breakdown when I saw it sitting in the mailbox.

Florida's acceptance was a small envelope, but came certified. IIRC, rejections weren't certified (although there was some controversy about it?)

Kansas State acceptance was a big manila envelope.

Acceptance was a small envelope that wasn't even sealed shut. I was scared to open that one

Last year the acceptance came in a brown manila envelope (the same kind my interview invite came in) and I know that waitlist notices came in small envelopes...not sure about rejections.

Tennessee = small envelope (no phone or email notification)
Ohio State = small envelope (but they notify you by phone or email first)
Auburn = don't remember (maybe Sofficat remembers 😉)

I liked my undergrad acceptance note. It said congratulations on the front. It would be great if some vet schools did the same 🙂.

Generally the letter itself will say Congratulations.... if you are accepted

Thank you for applying...if you are rejected

acceptance = small but fat envelope (there were several things in it). They generally do a phone call first though.

Yeah, the Missouri envelope was small, but kind of fat because it contains a couple of packets based on Code of Honor and Technical Information. I will wait just a little bit to send in the deposit check and the rest of the forms because I still want to hear back from Michigan St. and Tennessee, but getting into Missouri is a huge load of my shoulders.
