Enviromental Science

Sort of - I double majored in Earth and Planetary Sciences and Biology.

Right on. Do you know of any courses that you have taken or will take that will help in med school? Or how about any courses that you have taken that you enjoyed and recommend?

I took a toxicology course for my Environmental Science major, which turned out to be quite relevant. Microbiology is a good overlap too.

I have an ENV minor, I think Animal Physiology was really a good class, for general knowledge and also for the MCAT.

Good feedback I am taking Micro this quarter. I took a year of human anatomy and phys. and really enjoyed it. I think toxicology and animal phys. will be on my list.

I go to UTSA, so here are some of the requirements for a B.S. in Environmental Science at UTSA.

Environmental Science courses required for an Environmental Science major:
4 hours
Introduction to Environmental Systems I and Laboratory
4 hours
Introduction to Environmental Systems II and Laboratory
5 hours
Environmental Ecology and Laboratory
4 hours
Environmental Remediation and Laboratory
5 hours
Environmental Microbiology and Laboratory
3 hours
Environmental Law
4 hours
Environmental Chemistry and Toxicology and Laboratory
3 hours
Global Change

Non-BCPM courses required for an Environmental Science major:
3 hours
Introductory Computer Programming for Scientific Applications
3 hours
Fundamentals of Geographic Information Systems
3 hours
Engineering Geology

Of course some of these have equivalents, such as the microbiology and the ecology.

I'm glad I found this because I was just going to post a new post concerning this. I plan to major in enviromental biology (concentration microbiology) at Michigan State University. I was wondering would the following cover the pre reqs needed for med school? This is from the michigan state university microbiolgy link (http://www.reg.msu.edu/AcademicPrograms/ProgramDetail.asp?Program=3965)

Can anyone assist me with this?
