Students/recent grads,

I am about to start a new phase of my career - teaching optometry in a far off land (for a semester) - and have been asked to teach an environmental optometry class.

The course description is as follows: Vision in different environmental conditions, lighting requirements under different conditions, the computer screen and vision, eye safety and accident prevention, visual screening at work place, screening for drivers.

When we took this course in school we didn't have a text book. Have any of you come across an appropriate text? The topics I have most need for a reference for are lighting and different environmental conditions.

Not having much luck in my web search.

Thanks for your help,

Thanks,
Have that one coming in the mail. Anyone know of any more recent reference texts on the subject? Every sub-topic in environmental optometry has a very expensive text associated with it - looking for a general text

If you're worried about my students contributing to the over-supply. Don't. They won't find their way to your town.

Impressive Matt, 👍 may I ask where you’re going to teach? By your post, I get the impression it is in a different country. Always good to see that Optometry is growing around the globe.😎

I was joking about the distance. I thought you were going to a far off place like across your state boarder, but you weren't kidding when you said far; you meant FAR.

Good Luck! It should be an interesting adventure.
