Hi,

I am presently taking some post-bac classes and was wondering-- does epidemiology fall under the sciences??? I am unsure and want to know if it'll help boost my science gpa...thanx for everyone's help

It depends on how intense your course is but I think epi falls under the sciences - at least that's what I put on AMCAS and they didn't change it.

hmm... i got an ms in epi and only classified 1 epi course as science/math, although i did classify all 3 biostats courses as science/math.
i think it really depends on the nature of the epi course. some like "epidemiolgy of cancer" or "environmental and occupational epidemiology" really should not be classified as science/math. others that involve calculation of mantel haenszel odds ratios and such are more justifiable in my opinion.
can you take undergrad epi courses? b/c taking epi in grad school will not help your ugrad science gpa.

this is a technical question i'm really confused about...

i am not in graduate school, but wanted to take a graduate class (a epi class about the biology of hiv). therefore, does this fall under "grad science"classes although I am not in grad school....
i don't get it!
anyone's thoughts would be appreciated 🙂
thanx!!!

yeah cause I'm just finishin my masters in epi, actually I classified many of my epi classes as science, and AMCAS didnt change it. Plus I classified 2 biostat class, and 3 SAS classes as math:clap:

i think i had put epi courses as sciences... not quite sure now. nonetheless if you're already in the classes... it won't matter. just finish them up and put them on your amcas as science. if it works out- great, if not... don't take any more.
