This thread is for questions and discussion related to resources for epidemiology, introduction to clinical medicine, and clinical reasoning. In this thread, LWW will be raffling off one copy of Clinical Epidemiology: The Essentials, 4th edition. Winners will be drawn from among the members who post questions about the product or otherwise meaningfully contribute to the discussion.

Clinical Epidemiology: The Essentials, 4e—Clearly written by expert educators and replete with examples, illustrations, and pedagogical elements, this classic text is a truly effective learning resource for students.

Hi LWW,
Does Clinical Epidemiology, The Essentials (4e) emphasize topics covered by the USMLEs, or is it more of a core learning resource for epidemiology?
Thanks!

Hi schmartdoc,

Clinical Epidemiology serves as a concise and clinically oriented introduction to the field of epidemiology and is intended primarily as a core learning resource and reference, but due to the size of the book (less than 250 pp) and the format, it can work nicely as a overview/refresher for the boards. Plus, there are review questions in each chapter.

Thanks!
LWW

Who is the author of the behavioral science book? Do these books really change over the years?

Hello--

Our behavioral science texts and reviews are listed in a separate thread for Behavioral Science. Barbara Fadem, PhD is the author of Behavioral Science in Medicine, BRS Behavioral Science, and High-Yield Behavioral Science.

Thanks,
LWW
