Has anyone here taken this exam?? I am going to start studying for this exam really soon, but the problem is that I have not really touched psychology in 4 years due to being in medical school after finishing up my Psy.D. I finish medical school in 3 weeks...have 4 months off before starting residency, so I was hoping to study during this time. Also, I completed my psychology internship but did not do a post-doc. Is it still required to sit for the exam?

For those who are studying for this exam or have taken it, how would you recommend studying for it considering my situation?
What books should I use and what question banks?

Thanks for your advice

You don't necessarily need to have the postdoc year done to take the EPPP. Several states will let you sit for the exam early and you don't have to be a resident of that state to pursue this option. I took it right after internship year through Georgia. I think Kentucky and Indiana allow 'application by early examination' also. You will, however, need the year of postdoc completed in most states before you can be licensed.

calling BS on this one. psyd is the carribean perhaps? like MUA? which is not an accepted degree in several states.

yeah, a post doc is required. like anywhere else in the united states. but i would expect any graduate from a reputable program to know that.

you should probably know exactly how to study for this.

(snow, i got this one)

I got a PsyD from a reputable school in the US and then decided to go to medical school....and there is no reason for me to lie! 😕

It has been 5 years since I got my PsyD, so things might have changed...I have not called my school yet and havent even started the study process...so I thought I would throw it out here on the forum. My graduate friend told me you can sit for the EPPP before having a year of post doc and some states are doing away with the post doc anyways.
If you do not have any words of encouragement, its probably best that you dont post!
