Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone knows of any schools with an Equine Orthopedic Sx rotation for 4th years. I know Ohio State and Cornell do (at least according to our student affairs), but just wondering if anyone else does.

Yea for externship and 4th year schedule planning!

It's not the same thing but Guelph does an equine lameness rotation that is done by one of the surgeons...they do quite a bit of orthopedic surgery, I believe.

Davis! 😀

Well, we've got an Equine Surgery rotation anyway. It's not exclusively ortho, but they do seem to do mostly ortho cases with a lot of arthroscopy (plus the occasional tooth abscess, sarcoid removal, or melanoma). There's a separate equine ICU service which seems to get all of the colics, so that's probably why the surg caseload is weighted toward ortho issues.
