Er.. i feel i did really bad on my first midterm

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I just came out of a biostats midterm and felt it was really hard (the exam was not really what i expected and the class has been quite difficult for me, since its more explanatory/theory based)

wondering if i should drop the class with no penalty (so no W)

How do med schools look at having only 3 classes (my other three are vertbrat physio + physio lab, biochem, and GE course) ?

I don't know how heavy a load 3 is for a semester system, but I can tell you with near certainty that a med school isn't gonna look at one specific semester and say "why did you take fewer classes here?" Even if they do, you can say your schedule didn't really work with anything else, you wanted to do more volunteering or work at the time, or any number of things. If you actually used the freed up time to do something productive you wouldn't have otherwise had time to do, you wouldn't even really be lying about it.

It seems like you should figure out how you actually did before you withdraw, at least. How does it work that you can withdraw with no record of having taken the class?

Well I would certainly ask, because it looks to me like it's saying if you withdraw before the 10th day it's as if it didn't happen, but any time between the 10th day and the withdraw date you get a W, and then after that date if you "withdraw" you just fail (or get whatever you would get based on the points earned up to that point).

Definitely wait. You have nothing to lose by waiting. And if you decide to drop it a single W probably won't even be asked about at interviews. If it is, it's perfectly reasonable to say that your class schedule was more time-intensive than you expected. I'd recommend coming back and retaking it at some point though.
