I'm having a difficult time planning my career, and was hoping for some help from people with experience. People laugh when they hear what I'm interested in, but I really don't think there are too many differences:
I'm a 4th year trying to figure out what I want to do with my life. I've been interested in Interventional radiology for a while now. I love the procedures, the quick patient turnaround and I the cutting edge technology. I have no interest in being a diagnostic radiologist, but I think I can tolerate the residency to get where I want to be.
I am now into my emergency medicine rotation and loving it. I knew I would enjoy it but I didn't think it would change my mind. I love the procedures, the hours are excellent, the patient contact is great and the thrill of moving at a quick pace and not knowing what's going to be coming in next. Also there is a ton of radiology!
Thoughts from residents or attendings? Also, money is not a huge issue to me, but just out of curiosity how much do EMPs make? Thanks everyone!
