My house in college was call the Rathskeller

Also the name of Tulane's all-night campus food place. Only place on campus that has beer. People just call it The Rat.

Edit: my mistake, I just looked at their website and that place is gone now...it was there in 2003 I swear!

Yes, but the term originates in German......that was the point I was making. Any place in the US with a history of large numbers of German immigrants is likely to have one.
