ERAS and LOR's

Hey guys,
I have 3 LOR's uploaded to ERAS by attendings in preparation for this match cycle, but due to personal reasons, I am now not applying for 2015 match. My question - Will ERAS save these lor's for next match season ('15-'16) automatically? Or do i need to get them re-uploaded. Also, will it work against me if my LORs are a year old? I would also get 1-2 new ones by the time i apply next year, so I wouldnt necessarily use all old recs. Appreciate any advice.

thanks gutonc. i keep hearing mixed responses about this, but will taking and passing Step 3 give me any advantage when applying? I'm an FMG (caribbean), all rotations in US and am a US citizen. thanks

Step 3 won't really help you but, assuming you don't fail it, it won't hurt either. As to the "mixed messages", there are only 2 answers, the correct ones (that I gave you above) and wrong ones. You're already working against one red flag (being a Carib grad), adding others (YOG) to your app is only going to make things harder for you.
