Are people filling out this section under miscellaneous? Don't know what to put...baseball? biochemistry? critical care? long walks on the beach and dessert for two?

You put there what is that you do after you get home, or on weekends. What you do for FUN.

Besides lying around on my big, fat... I also included some of the more pertinent clubs from med/undergrad that didn't quite fit under volunteer or work experience. Just one liners like, "2006 - Member xyz club/society/association, did this and that..."

Is it okay to list our hobbies/interests or do we need it to be in a paragraph form?

Putting this section in paragraph form will make it more unlikely that they will read this section. Out of the CV/PS/MSPE, this is the most inconsequential part and will prob only be looked at just before interviews. Talking to previous grads, they put it bullet form, with a couple words such as - basketball -eating etc. Also, it is only significant if you really did do something consequential as an interviewer has no reason to bring up the fact that you play basketball.
