dang, some programs already downloaded my application! They are as fast as me 😀
Hey - I saw that too. What does "downloaded" really mean? Does that mean they acknowledge my humble request to see their legendary instituition, or does that mean that they actually care enough to take a look at my CAF? Hard to believe they'd look at stuff already, especially since USMLE sent none of my transcripts (not that my Step score is gonna do me any favors)...

I am not really sure, but I think they may download everyone's stuff and then decide what to do with them later. I also don't have USMLE transcripts in.

Another tidbit from reading old posts of previous years: 9/1 submit date, 9/5 usmle transcript online, 9/7 earliest interview offer (I think it was SLU).

Did your school send in the transcript yet? Mine has not but I figured it would have been in for a bit since they suggested we apply on day 1.
don't freak out if you're stuff isn't "downloaded" right away by some programs. Last year, about half of the programs did it right away, some waited a couple of weeks, and one did not actually do it until Oct 1st, if I remember correctly. "Downloaded" means that they have accepted transmission of your application info from ERAS and are starting a file.
some places start sending out interview offers in this first week, others wait a while until they have a bunch of apps in. Some trickle in really really late.

Downloaded means exactly that, that your application is downloaded.
Basically, the program automatically downloads all applications when they log in, just like all changes are downloaded as well. Some programs just don't log in in Download mode until later.
It is up to the person downloading's mood from then on out whether they look at it right away, run it through filters first, choosing only people named Matt etc, or just wait until they get enough of a pile to make it worth spending some serious time looking at applications.

Submitted this morning... About half the programs downloaded my broken application (no USMLE). Hopefully by next week everything will be uploaded and ready to go (except MSPE).

after you get an interview how soon do you have to schedule the time? Right away and and then cancel later if needed? I am planning on going to about 10 (hopefully I will have a choice). 😕
They will send out an interview offer email and usually in that email they will either have certain weekends or certain days each month. I wouldn't wait too long after you get these emails especially if it is a place you are trully looking at; you can get in trouble with only limited choices.
But in that same regard, some places only have 2-3 interview dates. For these, you need to be careful that you don't schedule another program that may have more dates before this program. If there is only a couple of dates, lock these in and then schedule programs with more dates around the first.
Also, if you applied widely and get an interview that you probably won't go on, email them back and tell them that you won't be coming. The program appreciates this and it is also considerate for those also wanting interviews at that program that may have to wait until later.

It is nice to see that people are acknowledging my existence. The problem is now I know they are aware of me.... are they shunning me? A few came back and DLed my USMLE scares that were added today at 1 PM. Were they doing it to mock me?

Just so you guys will stop perserverating for a while, all that happens when programs download is they press a button labelled "contact eras post office". Whatever is in the "mail" gets put into the eras database. There is no choosing who or what is downloaded.

I know that, but I also have a strong imagination and believe that the directors are smoking cigars and mocking all of us!

40+ programs, 20+ prelims.
The good folks at U of Florida just "acknowledged" me. Nice to know my email address works, but a bit anticlimactic.
