ERAS Statistics - ERAS - Services - AAMC

Interesting to see Psych continues to be increasing in applications, another 10% increase this year:

2014 2015 2016 2017 2018
1,224 1,421 1,610 1,756 2,010

So thats 10% increase in each of the last 4 years...impressive and easily the most among all specialties.

More applications to psych this year than: OBGYN, Anesthesia and almost as much as Gen Surg...

Some food for thought,

Of course, the confirmation of competitiveness will be other indicators like USMLE score average, etc in the 2018 charting outcomes...

Stop scaring the cheat out of current applicants!

Also, what’s up with your recurrent attempts to prove that psychiatry is a great specialty? o_O:coffee:;)

Just informing with stats. I'm a numbers guy.

And just because a specialty is getting more apps, doesn't necessarily mean it's a "great specialty"

But this is hopefully good for the specialty. Hopefully applicants are "stronger" which hopefully means better Psychiatrists in the future and therefore better mental health care for society.
