Eras question!

Hello everyone,

Had a question about the CV for ERAS. I am finalizing my application and I saw that there is the link to "view your CV" link, and it lists all the info there. Does this mean you do not have to actually put in your CV?

Also, when do most people apply. It seems alot of people have already applied, am I late in the process? I hope to get everything out in maybe a week or so, just waiting for some corrections. Anyone know?

You create a CV on ERAS by answering their fields. You don't put a CV document into ERAS.

ALthough many have their applications in, you will be fine as long as your app is in by Nov 1st. By then, you should have the bulk of your application complete, including LOR's.

If you're applying for less competitive fields, then later is OK but still best to be done and in by Nov 1.

Also, I was wondering, can the actual ERAS application be submitted without letters? And if a program has a certain deadline, does that mean that letters also have to be in by the deadline, or just the main application?

Yes, you can submit ERAS on your own time. You shouldn't submit it w/o a PS but you shouldn't wait until your letters are in.

As for the deadline, they're talking about a complete application. So if you need 3 letters and only have 2, your app will be incomplete. If you have and need 3 letters but you requested 4 at the deadline, your app is complete. Having said that, if your app is incomplete and you get offered an interview prior to the deadline, it's usually not a big deal. Just check w/ the Prog Asst and make sure that everything is kosher.
