anyone have familiarity with how to best update residency programs regarding achievements between app submission and the current time? ie research publications, AOA status, etc.? best to wait for interview day or to send an email to each program or method of sending out official updates via eras itself?

You can change AOA status on your application at any time. I would do it immediately after you get elected.

You can target high priority programs by dropping them an e-mail about your research. I would bring official reprints to the interview or send them now to be appended to your application file.
