Is it okay to put scholarships under Medical School Awards and Honors?

How about interest groups with leadership positions under Honorary/Professional Organizations or under Volunteer Experiences?

How about medical society (AMA) leadership positions (volunteer or professional organizations, both)?

I am trying to decide between two specialties Anest and Rad (one this month and one next month) so was planning on having LOR and turn in app by Oct.1, is this gonna be too late?

I can't see where else you would put it

That is exactly where you are supposed to put interest group/leadership positions. I would list the professional societies under that category, but also list your leadership position under volunteer activities

Why not try and submit for both as soon as possible and sort through the interview invites once you've made up your mind?

Wouldnt be it repeat of stuff mentioning leadership in volunteer and professional societies?

I would describe the leadership activity under the volunteer section

Then under professional societies I would just list the fact that I belong to AMSA, or the AMA, or whatever other societies. I wouldn't repeat the description.

After college I worked doing research and was paid, does this go down as work experience or research experience.....

I'm thinking work...

I think it depends. If you were merely a "grunt in the lab", then it's a work experience. If it was a true research experience, where you were involved with experiment design and lab meetings, then list it as a research experience.

Got it.

So my first year was mostly grunt work. Second year I was actually doing the experiments, designing, etc.

Thanks very much.

While I've got you.... my work the second year went to three conferences and then the abstracts were published.... which should I list them as? Also, if a project was presented at a conference (where someone else presented) and then became a paper do I list it twice?
