4k hrs scribing and no shadowing? What were you scribing for? You may count some towards shadowing.

Did your already submit TMDSAS? You should get some interest.

my advisor said this does not count as shadowing as I was being paid to be there
Was this through a summer academic enrichment program? Honestly, it doesn't matter if you got paid to observe, but it's nice if you did. It matters if you paid them.

No, it was part of my training as a new hire for the scribe position.

Hmm. You didn't add this to your scribing hours, right? You still have plenty of hours though, and many adcoms will credit you with shadowing as a scribe, including the ER.

Are you applying this year ?
I did, on my AMCAS application all those hours I posted are under paid clinical, since I followed my advisors suggestions when I submitted. Currently still in the verification queue Faha. I have only submitted AMCAS so far.

Apply to all your TMDSAS MD and DO schools this week and you should receive interviews. For AMCAS schools I suggest these:
TCU
Tulane
California University
Kaiser
Georgetown
George Washington
Miami
Rosalind Franklin
Loyola
Tufts
Einstein
Penn State
Jefferson
Medical College Wisconsin

Thank you for the recommendations @Faha
Since you haven't submitted TMDSAS yet, subtract out some of those shadowing hours and list in a shadowing heading.
TMDSAS has no limit on the number of activities you can list. I'm sorry your advisor gave you $%#*&! advice for AMCAS.

Search carefully to see which TMDSAS schools accept DACA applicants. It appears only TCU, A&M, and UT Health San Antonio (Long) do.
AMCAS list on DACA school policies

For schools that don't recognize your DACA status, did you apply on AMCAS as an international applicant from Mexico?
